2015 Parade Home Features ICF Construction

The 2015 Pueblo Parade of Home for Pioneer West Homes has come together beautifully. The stone and stucco ranch style home is not only an incredibly stylish home, it’s the best performing, energy-efficient home in this year’s Pueblo Parade of Homes.

A low-maintenance, ranch-style home located on a walk-out homesite, this Pueblo custom home is built entirely of ICF Construction (Insulated Concrete Form). The home is a custom design build project that has been built to provide the family with a living environment that is stylish, comfortable, and energy-efficient, meeting the stringent Energy Star Version 3 Standards.

ICF is a system of formwork using reinforced concrete usually made with a rigid thermal insulation that stays in place as a permanent interior and exterior substrate for walls, floors, and roofs. The forms are interlocking modular units that are dry-stacked (without mortar) and filled with concrete. The units lock together somewhat like Lego bricks and create a form for the structural walls or floors of a building. ICF construction has become commonplace for both low-rise commercial and high-performance residential construction as more stringent energy efficiency and natural disaster resistant building codes are adopted.

This year’s custom home will be open to the public July 17 – 26. Open Fridays from 1 to 6 p.m. and weekends from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., tickets are $5.00 per person (under 16 admitted free of charge) and available at each Parade home or online at PuebloHBA.org.
